It started with one dance lesson as a kid, and Jamie Domer-Cordon was hooked. Soon, she was traveling around the country performing, receiving instruction from well-respected professionals while polishing her craft. Now decades later, Cordon has made a career out of not only celebrating her passion, but helping others develop a love for it as well. For 20 years, Domer-Cordon and her Jamie’s Dance Force studio have been instilling in students technique, artistry, and discipline to carry with them throughout their lives, the same way she’s carried the love of dance in her life. In May 2019, Domer-Cordon celebrated 20 years of Jamie’s Dance Force with a special alumni show at Boardman Performing Arts Center, with students of all ages returning to showcase what they learned under their instructor. It just goes to show you can dance like no one is watching, but it’s more enjoyable to share your passion.
